At FB Church Garden Lakes we take Acts 1:8 seriously! We believe it is our duty to take The Gospel message to our community, our state, our country and the world! We work cooperatively with other Southern Baptist Churches to accomplish this God-sized challenge. We have not arrived! And we need your help! If you want to get involved in our missions ministry – there is a place for you.
On our home page you can find links to some of the organizations we work with and through: Estrella Baptist Association, Arizona Baptist Convention, and the national Southern Baptist Convention.

Local Evangelism Efforts:
What good is our reach around the world, if we do not go out and touch the community just outisde our doors? That is what our leadership team considered when we began discussing our upcoming Spring evangelism event.
This spring, our missions team is working with area neighborhoods to plan a community egg hunt. Now most of us, as Christians, would not normally celebrate Easter with an egg hunt. But, in a effort to meet our community right where they are, our team is working with community leaders, neighbors, and volunteers to coordinate a family fun day that will bring our church, and The Gosel message, to the neighborhoods just outside our door where many have not heard The Good News!
If you want to volunteer for this family fun day, contact the church office to sign up. Everyone can help STARTING TODAY by bringing candy filled eggs to the church office! We need 2000+ eggs and larger give away items for the “prize” eggs. We also need Gospel tracts to hand out at the event and trained soul winners. So sign up today to volunteer and to receive JIC (just in case) evangelism training!
Some guidelines for filling eggs: Candy should be individually wrapped. Candy should not be chocolate or any other type of candy that will melt out in the spring sun. After filling plastic eggs, please tape the seams with scotch tape so they will not separate when being tossed in the yard.

International Missions Lottie Moon 2011:

IMB Missionary Chris Eardensohn speaks to auction attendees about the cooperative program and his mission field.
Sunday, December 16th, FB Church Garden Lakes hosted the annual International Potluck Dinner and Auction. This fundraiser for International Missions, as always, was a huge success. IMB Missionaries, Chris and Amy Eardensohn, and their children, were on hand to share their mission field (Africa) and how the Cooperative Program helps them take The Gospel Message around the world. After Chris spoke about his calling to missions, the auction began! With a live auction, silent auction, and raffle running concurrently, over $6,ooo was raised to benefit the Lottie Moon International Missions Fund Christmas Offering. You may continue to add to the Lottie Moon Fund through Christmas Day through the weekly offering (use the Lottie Moon envelopes provided).

Pastor Jeffrey & Missionary Jacob Cano
UPDATE: December 16th, Jacob married his sweetheart, and helpmate, Laurel. Please pray for Jacob and Laurel as the start their new life together!
September 11, 2011 was a special day in the life of FBChurch Garden Lakes as we commissioned one of our own to the mission field. Long time meber, Jacob Cano, will be serving as a North American Mission Board missionary on the campus of ASU West.
When Paul and Barnabas were sent out from the church at Antioch on their missionary journey, the church laid their hands on them and prayed for them. But that is not the end of the story! Through out the New Testament we find evidence that the church continued in prayer for them, gave encouragement, and sent aid when it was needed. We find also that Paul gave reports to the sending church, so they could give praise for how God was working.
Let us celebrate Jacob’s commissioning, but remember that this is just the beginning of a new work God has for us to do together! If you would like to find out how you can give to support Jacob’s work, or financially support his mission, please contact the church office for details.

The Church placed their hands on Jacob and prayed for his mission.
