AWANA

*3 years old through Senior High – there is something for every student!

Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ.  The AWANA program offers a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community.

As a ministry leader for 60 years, Awana is making an impact. A recent national survey found Awana to be as important to our alumni’s spiritual foundation as all other church activities combined. Among alumni who participated in our programs for at least six years, 92.7 percent still attend church at least weekly as adults!

Each week, more than 1.5 million kids ages 2 to 18 participate in Awana. Over 12,000 churches in the U.S. and more than 10,000 internationally run Awana programs that change young lives through biblical truth.

The AWANA ministry at FBChurch Garden Lakes is led by Commander John Higginbotham and his Co-Commander Gary Stephens.  Mary Kennedy serves as the AWANA Secretary.  We have many talented teachers and volunteers who serve each week in hopes of helping your child hide God’s Word in their heart.  The focus of this ministry is Scripture memorization and student earn points towards rewards throughout the year.  AWANA material and supplies is available for purchase in the church office and during club meetings and a nominal fee is charged as membership dues.

*As our young preschoolers are still adapting to a “student” setting, we ask that parents of Puggles remain on campus during the program.  Parents are welcome to attend our adult Bible study which runs concurrent with AWANA, or may connect with the AWANA Commanders to see how they might serve during the evening.
