AWANA Clubs of First Baptist Church, Garden Lakes is a Bible-based program of Scripture memory and games that help children grow spiritually and socially as they interact with one another. Our program currently consists of approximately 150 boys and girls who meet each Wednesday evening at 6:30 P.M. The clubs run from the first Wednesday in September through the last Wednesday in May. There is a registration fee of $15.00 for the first child, and $10.00 for each additional child within a family. Or, if preferred you may pay a due of $.50 weekly from each child to cover the cost of the awards which are given at the Annual Award Ceremony held in May.

Boys and girls compete with children of other churches in Arizona and New Mexico in AWANA Olympic games. Bible Quizzing, AWANA Race Car Derby, and Water Fun Day are also a part of this exciting program. Richard Keller serves as our AWANA Commander. He is supported by a large group of adults who have dedicated themselves to training boys and girls to love and serve our Lord.

AWANA Clubs is divided into the following groups by age and school grades:

• Puggles - Children who do not meet the Sept. 1 cut-off date to enter the Cubbie Program
• Cubbies Club - 3 and 4 year olds
• Sparks - Kindergarten thru 2nd Grade
• Truth and Training - 3rd and 6th Grade Boys and Girls
• TREK - Jr. High School Boys and Girls
• 24/7 - High School Boys and Girls
